Jackson was upset winner of 2013 GOP lieutenant governor nomination

e.w. jacksonFormer Republican statewide office candidate E.W. Jackson is heading to Iowa to campaign for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

“The voters we are trying to reach in Iowa are the kind of people who gave me the nomination and voted for me in the general election,” said Jackson, the LG nominee in 2013. “I look forward to telling them why I am supporting Ted Cruz, and they should, too.”

Jackson will arrive in Iowa on Monday and spend the day campaigning for Cruz.

“I respect the other Republican candidates, but given the vicious attack against our Constitution and our Judeo-Christian values over the last seven years, we need a president who thoroughly understands and reveres our Constitution and its foundational principles. Only one person in this race fits that bill, and that’s Ted Cruz,” Jackson said.
