Douthat State Park seeks demonstrators for Apple Day and Arts and Crafts Fair

newspaperDouthat State Park is seeking heritage-themed demonstrators for their annual Apple Day and Arts and Crafts Fair, Oct. 11, 2014, at Douthat State Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This event will be a celebration of traditional mountain crafts, food, and entertainment.

Exhibit space will be made available to demonstrators in Appalachian arts and crafts such as blacksmithing, leatherworking, quilting, weaving, pottery, woodworking/carving, etc.

In addition to craft demonstrators, the park is also seeking demonstrators for Appalachian life skills such as lumberjacking, butter churning, soap making, storytelling, beekeeping, and food preservation.

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate and sell their wares.

Arts and Crafts vendor spaces are also available. Arts and Crafts must be predominantly handmade or embellished by hand by the vendor. For more information contact Katie Graham, chief ranger of visitor experience at 540-862-8114.
