Donald McEachin on vote for Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker

Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) issued this statement following his vote for Nancy Pelosi to serve as the next Speaker of the House.

“I was proud to cast my caucus vote for Nancy Pelosi to be the next Speaker of the House. I have no doubt she is the best Speaker to lead the People’s House in these challenging times. Leader Pelosi is battle-tested, experienced, knowledgeable, and uniquely prepared to help us pass critical priorities. As the co-founder of the United for Climate and Environmental Justice Task Force, co-chair of the Leader’s Environmental Message Team, and member of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, I know that under Leader Pelosi’s guidance, we will address serious and urgent issues like climate change, which has been an objective of mine for years both as a state senator and a congressman. She will be fair and principled in how she stands up for our shared values represented within the ‘big tent’ caucus and the entire House. We are fortunate to have such a talented and able woman as our leader.”
