nationals_logoJordan Zimmerman was good, but Clayton Kershaw was a little better, in a 3-0 win for the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.

Kershaw (10-8, 2.39 ERA) took a perfect game into the sixth, and ended up going eight on the night, giving up three hits and striking out eight.

Zimmerman (8-8, 3.34) gave up two hits and walked one, striking out nine, in seven innings of work, but he got touched up for one run, in the third, on a two-out RBI single by Carl Crawford.

The Dodgers added two in the eighth off reliever Drew Storen, on a double by pinch-hitter Andre Eithier that moved Joc Pederson to third. The two baserunners were being held up as the ball was relayed to the infield from Bryce Harper to Anthony Rendon, but Rendon threw the ball toward home anyway, and the throw was wild and went out of play. The two-base error sent both runners across the plate with insurance runs.

Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth for his 22nd save.

Washington (58-55) is three and a half games back of the New York Mets in the National League East.
