Update: One confirmed fatality in three-vehicle crash in Augusta County

Updated: Monday, Aug. 31 3:47 p.m. At 9:39 a.m. on Sunday, Virginia State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Route 262 just south of Route 252.

A 2001 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling on Route 262 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2014 Honda Civic. The Suburban then spun around and struck a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country that was traveling behind the Honda.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Charlotte G. Gingerelli, 43, of Raphine, died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
