
Brat, who is challenging House Republican leader Eric Cantor for the GOP nomination in the Seventh, has been pushing his stance on immigration, characterizing Cantor as pro-amnesty and saying the incumbent has flip-flopped on the issue and is deceiving voters on his position.
Ingraham said she would not have been in attendance “unless I thought this was critically important and unless I believed 100 percent in this man, Dave Brat.” She also noted that Brat’s positive demeanor and outlook reminded her of Ronald Reagan, with whom she worked years ago.
Brat succinctly summarized Eric Cantor’s lack of principle on amnesty. “Eric Cantor saying he is against amnesty is like Barack Obama saying he is against Obamacare,” Brat said.
