Culpeper District Traffic Alert: July 16-20

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Westbound sign installation between mile marker 126 and 124. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Monticello Avenue) – Bridge repairs over Moores Creek near Interstate 64. Expect nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

(UPDATE) Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit near Route 601 (Old Garth Road). Westbound traffic will use the left turn lane. Obey traffic controls Monday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Road closed to through traffic at the Little Ivy Creek bridge in Ivy beginning at 8 p.m. July 13. Use Interstate 64 as the alternate route while the bridge is replaced. VDOT has made temporary changes to the traffic pattern on Route 250 at the Interstate 64 interchange (exit 107) to improve traffic flow while construction is under way. Obey all traffic controls. Anticipated completion July 27.

(UPDATE) Route 600 (Stony Point Pass) – Rehabilitating bridge over Flannigan Branch. Road closed to through traffic. Use alternate routes. Anticipated completion Aug. 10.

(NEW) Route 647 (Preddy Creek Road) – Resurfacing operations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect intermittent lane closures.

(NEW) Route 649 (Proffit Road) – Debris removal at bridge over Rivanna River. Road closed to through traffic July 16-22. Use alternate routes.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures.

Route 810 (Blackwells Hollow Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Halls Creek. Road closed to through traffic June 11-Sept. 7. Use alternate routes.

Culpeper County

Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Raised pavement marker installation between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) – Line painting between Route 609 (Hoover Road) and Route 718 (Mountain Run Lake Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) – Bridge repairs over Muddy Run. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Fauquier County

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Bridge repairs over Goose Creek and Route 55 (John Marshall Highway). Expect lane closures Monday and Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731 intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Louisa County

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Bridge work under Route 688 (Holland Creek Road). bridge over I-64 at Route 688 (Holland Creek Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs eastbound near mile marker 136. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs westbound near mile marker 137. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 663 (Owens Creek Road) and Route 33 (Jefferson Highway). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Orange County

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Constitution Highway) – Milling and paving operations between Route 3 (Germanna Highway) and Route 729 (Tannery Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 20 (Constitution Highway) – Installation of signs between Route 3 (Germanna Highway) and Route 611 (Gold Dale Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
