Cubs take third straight from Nats, 7-5

natsThe Nats arrived in the Windy City with a claim to being the best team in the National League. Sorry, but it’s the Cubs, by a long shot.

Chicago rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the middle innings to defeat Washington, 8-5, on Saturday, giving the Cubbies their third straight win in the four-game series.

The Cubs (23-6) took the lead for good on a two-run double in the seventh by Addison Russell, who had two hits and three RBI on the day.

The Nationals (19-11) got two hits each from Ben Revere and Stephen Drew.

Bryce Harper walked three times and had a sac-fly RBI.

Kris Bryant hit his fifth homer of the season for the Cubs, who are up seven and a half games on Pittsburgh in the National League Center.

Washington has a half-game lead on the New York Mets in the NL East.
