College Football: UVa., Virginia Tech honored for grad rates

The University of Virginia is one of 46 institutions recognized for graduating 70 percent or more of its football student-athletes, the school announced on Thursday.

Virginia Tech is also on the list for the graduation of student-athletes from the freshman class of 2001.

Colorado will receive the American Football Coaches Association Award for highest graduation rate from the class of 2001. Colorado graduated 100 percent of its student-athletes from that class.

Four other ACC schools reached honorable-mention status along with UVa. and Virginia Tech – Boston College, Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
