College football: No news is good news, actually, regarding start of 2020 season

A joint statement from FBS member conferences and TV networks including ABC, CBS, ESPN and Fox Sports signaled a move in the direction of college football normalcy on Tuesday.

In the statement, it was confirmed that the conferences and TV networks have agreed to an extension for determining college football’s early season game times beyond the standard June 1 deadline, and that kickoff times and network designations will be announced at a later date.

This isn’t something that fans would know or normally care about, with the season three months and change away, but in light of what has transpired the past couple of months, it’s meaningful, if even in that nothing is being pushed back, canceled, anything of that nature.

The general thrust: wait and see.

And we’ll take wait and see, mainly because we have to.
