Christian WorthChristian Worth was certified today as the Democratic Party nominee for the 24th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Voters from across the district signed petitions to validate her candidacy, with the help of volunteers who collected them in Amherst, Augusta, Bath and Rockbridge counties.

“Our volunteers are as dedicated as any in the state,” Christian said. “Over the past month we have had volunteers gathering signatures, making phone calls, reaching out to their networks, and organizing with friends and neighbors. My sincerest gratitude goes out to all our volunteers.”

Christian is a mother of two and a committed citizen activist. A Washington and Lee graduate, she has transitioned from her career as a family lawyer to commit her time to causes that range from community building to fighting poverty. She serves on the Lexington Democratic committee and the boards of United Way and CARE Rockbridge.

Christian wants us to reap the benefits of communications and clean energy technologies, focus on our children’s education and make our district welcoming with affordable housing, healthy farms and accessible jobs:

“We have the natural resources, hard working people, and know-how here in the 24th District to be a model of how we can move forward in our modern times, without losing sight of who we are.”
