A Chris Davis 10th inning grand slam broke a 3-3 tie, lifting Baltimore to a 7-3 win over Oakland Wednesday afternoon.
Davis went deep off Arnold Leon (0-1, 6.75 ERA) for his 28th homer of the season. Zach Britton (2-0, 1.62 ERA) got the win with two and a third innings of scoreless relief.
The O’s bullpen – Britton, Brad Brach and Darren O’Day – put up five scoreless innings of relief, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out seven.
Starter Wei-Yin Chen went five innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out four and walking four.
Davis was 2-for-4 with the homer, four RBI and two runs scored.
J.J. Hardy was 2-for-5 with an RBI single in the sixth.
The Orioles (55-52) are six games out of first place in the American League East and a half-game out of the second wild-card spot in the AL.
