A 37-year-old male is in custody in connection with a reported stabbing that occurred at 12:32 a.m. Monday in front of the CVS store on University Avenue in Charlottesville.
Based on evidence collected at the scene, as well as victim and witness statements, Michael Anthony Williams II has been charged with malicious wounding.
Williams is being held without bond at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Jail.
One of the involved males fled the scene of the incident before officers arrived, but was stopped near the scene by responding officers. Officers made contact with a male victim at the scene and discovered that he had been assaulted with a knife and received non-life threatening injuries.
