Chamber names interim president

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce has named an interim president.
Richard “Dick” Morin will serve in the position until a new president is named, the chamber announced today. Morin replaces James Berg, who stepped down for undisclosed reasons on Aug. 18.
Morin’s appointment is effective Thursday.

Morin served as interim president of the Chamber during a transition in 2007. “Dick is an excellent choice for interim president,” said Janice “Bonnie” Moyers, Chair of the Board. “His prior experience with the Chamber and eagerness to lead will ease the transition to a new president. We are honored to have him join us as an experienced, respected leader who has the confidence of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community. ”

The Board also appointed Tom Mendez, chair-elect, to lead a search committee for a new president. Candidates interested in the position should contact the Chamber office for application requirements. Morin and several members of the board will be actively involved in the selection process.
