Cam Newton threw five touchdown passes, and the Panthers D held Washington to 14 yards rushing, as the Carolina Panthers dominated the Redskins, 44-16, on Sunday to go to 10-0.
Newton was 21-for-34 for 246 yards, and Carolina put up 142 yards on the ground, with Jonathan Stewart gaining 102 yards on 21 carries.
Washington (4-6) couldn’t get anything going anywhere, with just 186 yards total offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins was intercepted on the Redskins’ first offensive possession, and was sacked five times.
Cousins was 22-for-30 passing for 207 yards and a touchdown, a 56-yard TD pass to DeSean Jackson in the first quarter.
The ‘Skins also got a 99-yard kickoff return TD from Andre Roberts in the first quarter that tied the game at 14 at that time.
Carolina reeled off 30 unanswered points before giving up a late safety in the final seconds.
