CAPSAW needs assessment extended

Contributors

Nearly 200 community members have responded to the CAPSAW needs sssessment launched in May. The assessment was originally scheduled to close at the end of this month, but due to consistent response rates the deadline has been extended to the end of July.

The results will help the Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro chart a course towards financial and social independence for low income working families.

“CAPSAW funds, comprised of local, state and federal sources will be used to bolster residents’ ability to improve their economic stability. Part of the process of determining community needs is asking for the input of the individuals and families that live and work here” says Anna Leavitt, CAPSAW coordinator.

Preliminary results indicate a shift towards job development and financial education and a movement away from emergency services.  Board members will use the data to guide Strategic Planning sessions scheduled for August.

Copies can be requested through email at [email protected] or accessed directly through www.surveymonkey.com/s/NGCFSVM.  Responses will be accepted through July of 2012.
