Buckingham County: Woman killed after car rolls over, strikes tree, body ejected

A New Canton woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Cartersville Road in Buckingham County.

Jane Anita Opie-Brown, 64, was ejected from her vehicle and died at the scene.

Virginia State Police is investigating the fatal accident that occurred at 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of with Route 15.

Brown’s Mazda was heading eastbound on Cartersville Road when it went off of the right side of the road, rolled over and struck a tree.

Brown was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
