Liberty was able to contain high-scoring James Madison point guard Dawn Evans, but the Flames’ own offensive woes were too much to overcome as the Dukes posted a 60-50 win in a battle of Commonwealth unbeatens Tuesday night.

Waynesboro High School alum Devon Brown was also held in check, scoring just nine points, well below her 21.2-points-per-game average coming in.

Brown did haul in a career-high 13 rebounds for Liberty, which fell to 5-1 on the season with the loss.

Evans led JMU with 14 points, below her season average of 26.8 points per game.
