Bridgewater College welcomes four new faculty members

bridgewater collegeBridgewater College welcomes four new full-time faculty members for the 2018-19 academic year. The faculty members, who will arrive on campus in mid-August for meetings before the start of classes on Aug. 28, will join the departments of economics and business administration, mathematics and computer science, music and psychology.

The new faculty members, announced by Leona Sevick, provost and vice president for academic affairs, are as follows:

Yi Zhang will join the Department of Economics and Business Administration as assistant professor of economics and business administration. Zhang earned a B.S. in life sciences from Peking University in China, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in social psychology from Brandeis University.

Joining the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is Sreekanth Malladi as associate professor of computer science. Malladi earned a B.E. in computer science and engineering from Osmania University in India and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Idaho.

The Department of Music welcomes Curtis Nolley, as visiting director of choral music. He earned a B.A. in music from Bridgewater College and an M.M. in choral conducting from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Curtis Bradley will join the Department of Psychology as visiting assistant professor of psychology. Bradley earned a B.S. in psychology from Bridgewater College, an M.A. in psychological sciences from James Madison University and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from East Tennessee State University.

Bridgewater College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in the Central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Founded in 1880, it was the state’s first private, coeducational college. Today, Bridgewater College is home to more than 1,900 undergraduate students.
