Update: One serious injury in school bus accident in Augusta County

Update: 10:38 a.m. All injuries from this morning’s school bus accident in Augusta County have been transported to Augusta Health.  There were a total of 21 patients, 1 adult and 20 children.  They are from the Churchville area and attend Churchville Elementary School, Beverly Manor Middle School and Buffalo Gap High School.

There were no critical injuries.  There is one serious injury that has been transferred to UVA.  Five patients have been released.  The remainder are being evaluated and treated.

Children are being released to parents and guardians.

The Emergency Room remains open.

 

Original Post: 9:49 a.m. An Augusta County school bus with students from the Churchville area was involved in an accident this morning.  One adult and preliminary reports indicate 17  students were injured and are being transported to Augusta Health.

The students attend Churchville Elementary, Beverly Manor Middle School and Buffalo Gap High School.

Augusta Health has activated Emergency Incident procedures and has adequate resources to triage and treat the students who are arriving at the hospital for care and treatment.  The Emergency Room remains open.
