After being sentenced to 16 years in a Russian prison, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich may return home to the United States as early as tomorrow.

Russia has agreed to a prisoner swap of Gershkovich, who was arrested in March 2023 while reporting for the WSJ in Russia about the war with Ukraine, and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, with prisoners held in the U.S.

The White House has yet to publicly comment on who in the U.S. will be released or any other details about the exchange. Bloomberg reported that multiple countries will be involved in the exchange.
