bob goodlatteCongressman Bob Goodlatte will address the Kiwanis Club of Staunton on Monday, July 25, at 12 noon.

Goodlatte has represented the Sixth District since 1993, which serves the Staunton, Waynesboro, Roanoke, Lynchburg and Harrisonburg areas.

As chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Congressman Goodlatte has a leadership role on a number of important national issues including immigration, terrorism, crime, anti-trust policy, patents and copyright law. The House Committee has oversight of the Department of Justice and Homeland Security. House Speaker Paul Ryan recently named him to lead a bipartisan House Committee on policy in the nation.

Goodlatte also serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and is a member of two subcommittees: Livestock and Foreign Agriculture, and the Commodity Exchange, Energy and Credit.

The Kiwanis Club meets at Gypsy Hill Place, the old Lee High School at 300 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, VA 24403. Please enter in the back off Albemarle Ave.

The Kiwanis Club of Staunton was founded in 1922 and serves the community through a number of programs and events. Over 350 children participate in our Cal Kipken Baseball program, which we have sponsored since 1947. We marshal the annual Staunton Christmas Parade, organize the Model General Assembly to enable high school students to re-enact the legislative process and sponsor three student leadership clubs: Shelburne Builders Club, Lee High Key Club and Mary Baldwin College Circle K.
