Big Island man found dead on Blue Ridge Parkway in Amherst County

A cyclist who suffered a medical emergency on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Amherst County was later found dead by rangers and first responders.

Audrey Neas Jr., 73, of Big Island, was found deceased lying beside his bicycle near Milepost 58.

The incident was reported to Blue Ridge Parkway dispatchers at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
