Bedford County | Virginia man dead after motorcycle strikes utility pole

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash Friday afternoon on Moneta Road in Bedford County.

Frank Earnest West, 60, of Huddleston, died at the scene.

According to Virginia State Police, the single-vehicle crash occurred at 2:24 p.m., one tenth of a mile north of Stoney Fork Road in Bedford County.

West’s 2024 Indian Super Chief motorcycle was traveling south when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

The crash remains under investigation.
