Baltimore rallies, tops Tigers, 7-5

baltimore oriolesBaltimore rallied from a 5-0 deficit with a decisive five-run seventh to defeat Detroit, 7-5, in the opener of a four-game series Thursday night.

A Jonathan Schoop two-run triple capped the big seventh for the Orioles (21-12), who have won five in a row.

Schoop, Chris Davis and Manny Machado each had two hits for the O’s, who trailed 5-0 in the sixth.

Vance Worley (2-0, 2.61 ERA) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

Starter Ubaldo Jimenez gave up five runs, four earned, on nine hits in five innings of work.

Zach Britton notched his ninth save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
