A Manny Machado homer, his 32nd, and a two-run Steve Pearce double put the O’s up 3-0 after one. Then the rains came, delaying the action three hours and 25 minutes.

UVA alum Tyler Wilson, the starting pitcher for Baltimore, was lifted after his one inning, which saw him pitch around a hit and two walks.

Machado hit his second homer of the game in the sixth, part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate.

T.J. McFarland (1-2, 4.82 ERA) got the win for Baltimore, pitching four innings in relief, giving up a run on five hits.

Drew Hutchison (13-5, 5.47 ERA) took the loss for Toronto, giving up three runs on four hits in the first before the rain delay.
