Baltimore drops 1-0 squeaker at Oakland

baltimore oriolesFormer Nats pitcher Ross Detwiler threw eight shutout innings in his first start of 2016, a 1-0 win for Oakland over Baltimore on Wednesday.

Detwiler (1-0, 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP) gave up six hits and struck out two, outdueling O’s starter Yovani Gallardo (4-4, 5.17 ERA, 1.60 WHIP).

Gallardo took the loss for Baltimore (63-50), giving up a run on four hits in six innings, striking out six and walking two.

The loss drops the Orioles into second place in the AL East by a full game behind Toronto (65-50).
