Augusta County motorcycle crash eesults in fatality

policeVirginia State Police Trooper A. J. Garasimowicz is investigating a motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a Harrisonburg man. The crash occurred June 16 at 5 p.m., on Route 742, less than a mile north of Route 927.

A 2012 Harley-Davidson Softail was traveling south on Route 742. As it came through a curve, the motorcycle ran off the right side of the road and struck a cattle fence.

The motorcyclist, William Anderson, 59, of Harrisonburg, Va., was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported to UVA Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died June 24, 2016. Anderson was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
