Renovations to the existing Augusta County Circuit Courthouse are under way, and are expected to be completed later this year.
The contractor has installed the scaffolding in order to reach Lady Justice and complete the work. The renovation will consist of two primary phases; phase one includes cupola painting, statue repairs and cleaning, and chimney repairs; phase two includes installation of a copper roof, along with new gutters and downspouts.
The county is taking numerous measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens and employees during this construction. Officials ask that the public not enter our work zones, be aware of your surroundings and follow the instructions on any signage.
Barristers Row will be closed to vehicular traffic periodically during both phases of work.
