Join aspiring and professional artists Friday morning between 8:30 and 9:45 to register at the Sunspots Pavilion for the Queen City Plein Air Festival’s Paint Staunton Quick Draw.
About 50 painters of all ages will paint various scenes of the downtown and wharf area between 10am and 1pm. Painters will then return with their work to the Sunspots Pavilion. Gloria’s Pupersoria Food Truck will be on hand for lunch. Art will then be judged and awards totaling $750 will be presented for those in both professional and amateur categories about 1:30pm
After the awards are presented by artist Ron Boehmer, the freshly painted art will then be offered for sale to the public between 1:45 and 2:30pm. Ten percent of the proceeds from the Paint Staunton sale will be given to the Children’s Art Network to support art in area schools.
