Albemarle County: Yancey School Community Center celebration, ribbon-cutting set for Friday

albemarle countyAlbemarle County is celebrating the opening of the Yancey School Community Center in Esmont on Friday from noon to 2 pm.

The family-friendly event will feature tours of the new facility, children’s activities, such as face painting, button making, golf putting, and more.

Some of our participating community partners include the Virginia Discovery Museum, PVCC, The Paramount Theater of CharlottesvilleHope’s Legacy Equine RescueThe First Tee of the Virginia Blue RidgeSexual Assault Resource AgencyJefferson-Madison Regional Library Bookmobile, VirginiaDMVThomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD)JABA CharlottesvilleNAACP-Albemarle Charlottesville, and Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP).

A free BBQ lunch will be provided by The French German/The Bend BBQ, while supplies last.
