Albemarle County farmer Richard Fox enters 25th District GOP race

richard foxFifth-generation farmer and Albemarle-native Richard Fox officially filed to become the Republican nominee for the 25th House of Delegates District.

Fox and his fiancée, Alexia Richards, are the owners of Roslyn Farm, a working farm and Bed & Breakfast in Albemarle County. He graduated from The Covenant School and then joined in the Fox family tradition of farming and agri-business development. “My family and I have been blessed to call Albemarle our home before we had a Twenty-Fifth District,” Fox said. “Caring for this land, these animals, and working with fellow farmers is a way of life I share with so many others throughout Rockingham, Augusta, and Albemarle. I know the struggles that come with the territory and I’m going to fight to protect what’s most important: our property rights and individual liberty, freedom from over-regulation, fiscal restraint, and access to quality education and business opportunity.”

Fox is running to fill the seat previously held by Del. Steve Landes of Augusta County. “Steve is a great inspiration and I’m thankful for his decades of service,” Fox said. “His leadership on education and budget policy was a tough task that he handled with a diligence and grace that everyone should admire. His recent efforts to ensure our schools remain safe and our taxes remain low are just a few of the areas I want to advance next session.”

Fox served as a Precinct Captain and Magisterial Chair of the Albemarle County Republican Committee, the Treasurer of the Central Virginia Young Republicans, and has been involved in multiple Republican campaigns in Central Virginia. On seeking the Party nomination he said, “I’ve been a Republican my whole life, not just when it was convenient. Our principles are important and mine won’t waiver. I’m a liberty-loving conservative who believes in hard work and responsibility. That’s what the Twenty-Fifth District is looking for and that’s what I plan to give them.”

A “Fox for Delegate” Campaign Launch Event will be held at 3:00pm this Saturday, March 9th at Pro Re Nata Farm Brewery in Crozet, Virginia. The address is 6135 Rockfish Gap Turnpike, Crozet, Virginia and everyone is invited. For more information, please email the campaign at [email protected].
