Two juveniles who carjacked a vehicle in Fairfax County on Friday morning are in the UVA Medical Center, one with serious injuries, after a pursuit led to a crash on Route 29 in Albemarle County.

Albemarle County Police said there were other vehicles involved, and that the drivers of the other vehicles were evaluated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

A press release from the PD noted that an officer had observed the suspect vehicle being operated erratically southbound on Route 29 at 7:38 a.m. on Friday.

A check of the vehicle’s registration returned it as having been stolen in Fairfax County in an armed carjacking earlier in the day on Friday.

The officer initiated a pursuit, and as the suspect vehicle entered the intersection with Greenbrier Drive, it struck two vehicles in the intersection.

One of the juveniles sustained non-life threatening injuries, while the other is in serious condition.

A firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Albemarle County Police Department at 434-296-5807. For those who wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000 or [email protected].
