AEW ‘Dynamite’ preview: Two world title matches headline March 4 card

MJF-Kevin Knight for the AEW World Title should be fun, but I would prefer the Thekla-Thunder Rosa match for the AEW Women’s World Title to be the main event.

Thunder Rosa, medically cleared after the latest of lengthy injury-induced absences, was inserted, quickly, into the world title picture upon her return last month.

Thekla, on her side of this, just won the women’s title from Kris Statlander three weeks ago, ending what was a too short reign for Statlander, running just under five months.

Thekla has been getting solo mic time, and demonstrating that she is adept there.

My sense is that her defense against Thunder Rosa is meant to boost her brief reign, to give her a win over a former world champ.

But that said, Tony Khan has been booking all over the place of late, so.

The March 4 card

  • MJF defends the world title against Kevin Knight: Knight got a couple of solo promos last week. He’s a work-in-progress there. Came across to me as if he’d be a better heel down the line, but he’d have to modify his in-ring to be an effective heel overall. This should be a good singles showcase for him.
  • The Iinspiration debuts against The Brawling Birds: I have hopes that this can be a lengthy tag feud.
  • Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero: Should be entertaining, because Hechicero is a solid worker.
  • Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors: I’m a fast fan of this Clark Connors guy. I see main-event potential there.
