Active shooter exercise will close Charlottesville City Hall Wednesday morning

CharlottesvilleCharlottesville City Hall (601 East Main Street) and the Charlottesville City Hall Annex (120 7th St N) will be closed to the public on the morning of Wednesday, June 29, to allow staff to participate in an active shooter exercise.

The exercise will be conducted by the Charlottesville Police Department and police officers will be posted by building entrances during the event. City staff and CPD have been planning this exercise for a number of months to help prepare City employees and first responders in the unlikely event that such an incident happens here.

All City offices and facilities not located in either City Hall or the Annex building will have regular hours. All offices in the two affected buildings will be open by 11:30 AM.
