Though NC State and Wake were projected to finish 10th and 16th in the ACC, respectively, in the media preseason poll, both have shown early promise.
The Wolfpack boast one of the nation’s top red zone defenses, allowing points on just 62.5 percent of opponent trips, including just three touchdowns.
The Demon Deacons counter with a powerful rushing attack, averaging over 200 yards per game, which ranks fourth in the ACC, and a defense that allows just 9.5 points per game, second in the conference.
