VCU is back over .500 in A-10 play, taking control at Rhode Island with a 14-2 second-half run on the way to an 84-75 win on Wednesday.
The Rams (12-6, 3-2 A-10, NET: 54) got 19 points off the bench from Terrence Hill Jr. and 17 points from Jadrian Tracey in the dub.
Rhode Island (10-8, 1-4 A-10, NET: 142) got 17 points from Tyler Cochran.
The win lifts VCU into a five-way tie for fourth in the A-10, with everybody chasing George Mason (17-1, 5-0 A-10, NET: 67).
ICYMI
Saint Louis (15-1, 4-0 A-10, NET: 22) is still in prime position in terms of its high NET ranking, which continues to vex me, considering the weak strength of schedule rank (185).
Dayton (13-4, 4-0 A-10, NET: 78) got nothing from scheduling aggressive with Power 6 games at Cincinnati and Marquette, neutral-site with Georgetown, BYU and Virginia, and at home with Florida State, and going 3-3 in those games.
Saint Louis played Stanford neutral court.
Wow.
However they’re at 22 in the NET, they’re the marquee game on the schedule for the rest of the A-10.
