25th House District candidate Angela Lynn gets LGBT endorsement

LGBT Democrats of Virginia announced its endorsement of Democratic Party nominee Angela Lynn in the 25th House District race today.

LGBT Democrats of Virginia is the LGBT caucus of the Democratic Party of Virginia. The organization presents issues and act as an advocate for LGBT persons within the Democratic Party of Virginia and helps elect Democratic candidates by providing a centralized repository of expertise and a clearinghouse for all LGBT campaign activities through working with various Democratic campaigns by organizing LGBT persons in Virginia to promote the values of service, competence and honor in support of the Democratic Party and its candidates.

The group also encourages participation of LGBT persons in the party; encourage, educate, and finances LGBT persons who aspire to public office; and raise awareness of LGBT issues in the Commonwealth and the Democratic Party of Virginia

“I am proud to be endorsed by the LGBT Democrats of Virginia,” said Lynn, who is challenging incumbent Republican Del. Steve Landes in the November election. “Discrimination in any form, against any group is simply not acceptable. I will fight for the right if this community not simply because they are gay or transgender but because they are Virginians and Americans and deserve equal rights and equal protection.”
