‘Hoos headed to Ole Miss

The Virginia baseball team is headed to Mississippi this weekend, and hopes its next sojourn takes it further west to Nebraska.
The Cavs (46-12-1) will square off with Ole Miss (43-18) in a best-of-three Super Regional series at Oxford, Miss., beginning Friday at 2 p.m. Game 2 on Saturday is scheduled for a noon start. Game 3, if necessary, is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Ole Miss qualified for the Super Regionals with a 4-1 win over Western Kentucky Monday night. Virginia made it by virtue of a 4-1 win over #1-ranked Cal-Irvine Sunday night, the second win in as many nights for the Cavaliers over the Anteaters on their home field.

The Friday and Saturday games are both slated for broadcast on ESPN2. The Sunday contest would be played on ESPN.
