An 18-6 first-half run pushed Virginia Tech to a 13-point halftime lead, and the Hokies cruised from there to a 77-69 win at North Carolina State Wednesday night.

Tech (15-6, 5-3 ACC) led 16-12 with 11:19 left in the first half when Malcolm Delaney took over. Delaney scored 10 points in the game-breaking run that ended with the Hokies up 34-18 with 3:16 to go.

Virginia Tech led by as many as 17 points in the second half as the Pack was not able to get any closer than the final margin of eight in the last 20 minutes.

Delaney led Tech with 22 points. C.J. Leslie came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points for N.C. State (12-10, 2-6 ACC).
