Finding time for fitness as an entrepreneur

Contributors

We all know how important regular exercise is, however, putting it into practice is a whole other story. With a heavy workload, projects to complete, and deadlines to adhere to, finding time for exercise as an entrepreneur can be challenging. As time is one of the major concerns, here are a few ways on how entrepreneurs can find time for exercise.

Mark It on The Calendar

Just like with any project or deadline you must meet; you should mark a spot on your calendar for fitness. Factoring in some time to do some regular exercise can bring a whole host of benefits for your physical and mental health, but you need to actually plan out when and where it will take place, so you can be certain you have the time and availability to do it. To keep you on track, see it as another task or project that you need to complete. You wouldn’t say you don’t have the time for a business meeting, so seeing the importance of exercise is crucial.

Morning Exercise

If you’re struggling to fit exercise into your routine, why not get it out the way and do it in the morning? If you tend to get up early, starting your day off right with some exercise can be hugely beneficial. If you can, why not wake up a little earlier than usual, so you can complete your workout and be prepared and ready for your busy day ahead. If you enjoy running, you may benefit from taking supplements. Checking out Vitamonk can give you more information on those known to enhance your endurance. Supplements like Creatine can make a real difference to your performance.

Make It Social

All entrepreneurs need some time to relax and unwind. If you’re working long hours without having a social life, you could be doing more harm than good to your mental wellbeing. If you struggle with motivation to do exercise, why not reach out to your friends and family and turn it into a group setting? Working out with people close to you can help you stay on track and make it that little bit more enjoyable. Whether you join a gym together or signing up for a class, there are various things that you can do to add more exercise into your life. Having support from your nearest and dearest can help keep you focused.

Use Your Breaks Wisely

One of the main advantages of being self-employed is that you have full control over when and where you work. How you spend your time is completely up to you, but if you’re serious about your health and fitness, you can use your breaks to do some exercise. Even squeezing in 10 minutes to go on a brisk walk or jog around your area can make the world of difference. If you’re prone to taking your car everywhere, why not swap it for a bike instead? There are so many health benefits that you can receive from cycling, instead of relying on your vehicle.

If you’re snowed under with work, exercise may be the last thing on your mind, however, to boost your productivity and keep you functioning at your best, regular exercise can help to clear your mind and keep you on the straight and narrow.

If you’re not a big fan of the gym, there are plenty of exercises that you can do in the comfort of your own home. If you’re wanting to make a change and lead a healthier lifestyle, taking just 10 minutes out of your day to go for a quick jog around your neighborhood can truly make a big difference.
