jmu logoJames Madison men’s basketball head coach Matt Brady announced Thursday that forward Enoch Hood (Norfolk, Va./Booker T. Washington) and guard Arman Marks (Louisville, Ky./Eastern), who both finished sophomore seasons, will not return for the 2013-14 academic year.

“Enoch and Arman have been integral members of the James Madison men’s basketball program for the last two years,” commented Brady of the departures. “This was a mutually agreeable decision that allows both young men to pursue a new opportunity that fits their pursuit of academic and athletic success. We thank them both for their contributions and wish them well.”

Hood averaged 4.4 points per game in 57 career games during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.  He added 2.7 rebounds per game along with 24 blocks and 22 assists.  He made 15 starts and played a total of 890 career minutes.

Marks played in 40 career games with three starts. He averaged 3.8 points per game for his career to go with 2.4 rebounds, 20 assists and 30 steals.

JMU went 21-15 in 2012-13 for the program’s third 21-wins season in the last five years. The Dukes captured the program’s first Colonial Athletic Association championship since 1994 and defeated LIU Brooklyn in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament for their first NCAA win in 30 years.
