Eighth-seeded Boston College stormed back from a big early deficit to post an 84-64 win over ninth-seeded Georgia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday.
Georgia Tech (16-15) led by as many as 15 in the first half before BC went on an 24-5 run over the last 7:12 of the first half to go into the break up 38-33.
An 8-2 Boston College run out of the break pushed the lead to double digits, and then after Tech narrowed the gap to 51-43 on a Marcus Georges-Hunt jumper at the 13:10 mark, BC took control with an extended 22-7 run over the next eight minutes.
Boston College (16-16) plays #1 seed Miami Friday at noon in the ACC Quarterfinals.
