Harrisonburg (8-5) jumped early on Generals starter Matt Horkey (1-1), with RBI singles by Tyler Straub and Aaron Dodson, a two-run single by Trevor Denton and an error on an infield grounder by Wade Bailey that allowed a fifth run to score.

Waynesboro (6-7) got one back in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Michael Brosseau that scored Jeremy Taylor, who had reached on a leadoff single.

Jesse Baker led off the fourth for the Turks with a solo homer to left. Waynesboro got that run back in the fifth when Taylor walked, stole second, stole third and advanced home on a throwing error.

Waynesboro had a golden opportunity to get back into the game in the seventh, loading the bases with no out, then getting two runs to score on a throwing error, but the threat fizzled from there.

The Generals loaded the bases with one out in the eighth with leading hitter Clayton Taylor at the plate, but Taylor grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Waynesboro went down in order in the ninth.
