The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for a region stretching from Augusta County to Page County in the Shenandoah Valley and over into Albemarle County and Nelson County in Central Virginia that is in effect from 2 p.m. Sunday into the overnight hours.
Two inches of rain are forecast later today, with locally heavier amounts possible.

As it happens, the makings of what became the landmark 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule were rolled out by Bill Clinton in 1999 at an event on Reddish Knob, the 4,397-foot peak located on the border of Augusta County and Pendleton County.
The City of Staunton built what it called the Booker T. Washington High School for Coloreds in 1936, and it was the high school for Black students in the Queen City for 30 years, until Staunton finally desegregated its schools in 1966.
