AFP

storylogo2Georgia Tech led by six with 1:51 to go, but Boston College rallied to stun the Yellow Jackets in the final minute to take home a 66-65 win in the opener of the 2015 ACC Tournament.

Boston College (13-18, 5-14 ACC) trailed 63-57 after a Robert Sampson three, but closed on a 9-2 run capped by a short jumper by All-ACC first-teamer Olivier Hanlan with 12 seconds to go.

Georgia Tech (12-19, 3-16 ACC) had the ball for the last shot, but a runner in the lane by Corey Heyward with two seconds left bounded off the rim and went out of bounds as time expired.

Hanlan led BC, which plays fifth seed North Carolina on Wednesday, with 25 points on 8-of-19 shooting. Hanlan also had eight rebounds and five assists.

The Eagles shot 44.7 percent from the field (21-of-47) and was 8-of-20 (40 percent) from three-point range.

Georgia Tech’s season ends with the loss. Tadric Jackson led the Jackets with 16 points.
