A 10-0 UVA second-half run broke open a tight game, and the third-ranked Cavs were able to shake off a pesky N.C. State, 61-51, Wednesday night at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesvillem, Va.
Virginia (14-0, 2-0 ACC) led by one, 32-31, at the half, after the Wolfpack led by as many as eight early on.
State (11-5, 2-1 ACC) still led 42-41 with 9:05 left, but Virginia held the Pack without a point for the next six minutes.
