redskins_scriptrRobert Griffin III is out indefinitely with a dislocated ankle, DeSean Jackson went down with a sprained shoulder, but Washington was still able to rout the Jacksonville Jaquars, 41-10, in its home opener at FedEx Field on Sunday.

Griffin and Jackson both went down in the first quarter. The injury to Griffin, the third-year quarterback, could be of a season-ending nature if it turns out that there is a fracture associated with the ankle dislocation, though more tests are required to determine the exact nature of the injury. Jackson, a free-agent wideout, is expected to be healthy for next week’s NFC East showdown with Philadelphia.

Neither was needed to dispatch with Jacksonsville on Sunday. Backup quarterback kirk cousins completed his first 12 passes and finished 22-of-33 passing for 250 yards and two touchdowns, and led Washington (1-1) to an early 21-0 lead, and the Jaguars (0-2) never seriously threatened.

Alfred Morris had 89 yards on 22 carries with two touchdown runs for Washington, whose victory gave first-year head coach Jay Gruden his first W as an NFL head man.

Ryan Kerrigan had four of Washington’s franchise-record-tying 10 sacks on the day, and the Washington D limited the Jags to 148 total yards.
