Virginia State Police investigating fatal ATV DUI in Fluvanna County

policecar3Virginia State Police Trooper K.K. Brown is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Fluvanna County on Aug. 15, 2014. The crash occurred at 8:32 p.m. on Route 761, approximately 4 miles west of Route 619.

A 2006 Honda 2RX-450R was traveling east on Route 761 when it ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch. Both the driver, Travis M. Allen, 18, of Scottsville, Va., and the passenger were thrown from the vehicle.

The passenger, Kaitlin M. Aylor, 18, of Madison, Va., was flown to UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, where she died the next morning (Aug. 16).

Allen was also flown to UVA Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Allen has been charged with underage DUI. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
