Alpine Special Olympics, featuring nearly 100 Virginia athletes with intellectual disabilities competing for the gold, Wintergreen Resort, Nelson County. Info: www.specialolympicsva.org.

Vine and Verse: A Poetry Gathering – bring a poem, recite a poem, listen for a poem that is significant to you while meeting others who share a poet’s interest, Stone Soup Books and Cafe, 908 W. 18th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March for Peace and Justice, United Methodist Church, Lewis and Beverley streets, Downtown Staunton, 6:30 p.m. This is our annual event that is co-sponsored by the Staunton-Augusta chapter of the NAACP.
